I wouldn't recommend mixing the two. This is a lose lose situation- damned if you do and damned if you don't. No matter what, somebody ends up unhappy. If you decide to go, then whoever you leave behind is inevitably miserable. If you decide to pass on the opportunity, then you may regret it forever, and will likely have to live with what-if's.
It sucks.

Relationships and travel are always tricky, but in my view, you have to be true to yourself first before you can be there 100% for another human. There is nothing worse than living your life with regrets and what if's. It's all about the Journey!
I once traveled.. but I wasn't in a relationship... just my mom missed me a lot... :( NO ONE LOVES ME!
